From Hollywood to Dollywood with film maker
brothers Gary and Larry Lane on their inspiring journey by way of I-40
East, from Los Angeles to East Tennessee. They have written a script for
Dolly Parton, where she plays the lead, and want to deliver it to her
personally in Sevierville. The brothers’ five day road trip is met with
peril and their journey is nearly stalled, but they prevail. Dolly is so
flattered by the project that she contributes seventeen original songs
to the documentary, two of which were previously unreleased. There is a
Q&A after the screening with filmmakers Garry and Larry Lane. Twenty
percent of the proceeds from the
June 15 showing will be donated to the
Imagination Library, Dolly Parton’s organization which sends new books
each month to children up to age five to help encourage literacy and
foster the love of reading.
